Natural lymphatic system support with four lymphatic-loving teas

“You are what you eat” some say, but what you drink can have huge consequences for your body—both positive and negative! Drinking right can be just as important as eating right. Just like you’d feed your body nutrients that will nourish your lymphatic system, you can focus on drinking teas that will boost your body’s natural defenses.

During my talk last month about the gut-lymph connection, I mentioned my top suggestions for herbs and teas.  Here are a few lymphatic-boosting teas for you to add to your daily routine during these cold winter months:

Lemon Tea

Lemons are an amazing source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C contributes to your body’s natural defenses by helping scavenge free radicals that can cause oxidative stress, and encourage the elimination of microbes in the body.

Turmeric Tea

Turmeric tea is an incredibly effective immune-booster, thanks to the fact that boiling the turmeric root makes the curcumin (a potent immune-boosting antioxidant) much easier for your body to absorb. Many turmeric teas are made using ginger (see below) and lemon (see above), which just makes it even more effective at raising your body’s defenses against invading pathogens.  Turmeric is a known immune modulator, and it will help to regulate your immune cells to make them more effective at protecting your body.

Ginger Tea

Lymphatic-loving ginger tea is one of the oldest remedies to help reduce pain, decrease the inflammation, and speed up the healing process. It’s also amazing for your heart and will help decrease nausea. Ginger contains two potent antioxidants named zingerone and gingerol, both of which are capable of raising your immunity. However, they can also decrease the effect stress has on your body, specifically preventing that stress from impairing your immune function.

 Green Tea

Green tea contains a lot of potent antioxidants, including EGCG. This compound helps fight stress, protect your cells from cancer, raise your metabolism, target stored fat for fat-burning, and improve your heart health. The antiviral properties will help fight off invaders that could cause illness.

What can be better than natural lymphatic system support with lymphatic-loving teas to warm you up this winter? In addition to drinking teas and lymph-supporting herbs, consider manual lymphatic drainage for whole-body support to rid your body of toxins, increase your energy, and reduce that heavy feeling in your limbs.

I hope you try some of these teas and enjoy the benefits they offer your health.
